Dear Colleagues,

Today is International Nurses Day – a great opportunity to recognise the tremendous contribution that nurses make within NHS Primary Care more widely, as well as within Pier Health.

We employ c.100 nurses at Pier Health across many different teams – as well as some colleagues who are dual-role, such as one Nurse turned Practice Manager (the first in BNSSG!).

Working alongside other clinicians and professionals, as part of multidisciplinary teams, our nursing colleagues are playing a growing role, which is fantastic to see. Coming from many different social backgrounds, they also bring rich diversity to our workforce.

The theme of International Nurses Day 2022 is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead”, and I would like to extend my sincere thanks from all of us at Pier Health to this special bunch of colleagues. We appreciate you.

Please do join if you are able to in celebrating this year’s International Nurses Day. We will be going ‘large’ on our socials.

The last two years have been the most challenging that many of us have known but, regardless of role, all our teams have shown real determination, commitment, care, and compassion. This is a great opportunity to recognise not only the fantastic role nurses have played, but the efforts of everyone throughout Pier.
